Hello!
In today’s post, I’ll show you how to resize a project in Cricut design space. For this tutorial, I’ll be using a Box template – SVG file with solid lines, but you can resize any project!
Step 1: First, upload your box template (SVG file with solid lines). Once, your box is uploaded, add to canvas.
Step 2: Now, select all pieces of the box template
(SVG file) and make sure all of the pieces are grouped together. If they’re
not, select all pieces and click the Group icon as shown in the picture in the
right side.
Then, make sure the lock icon is locked because this will make the dimensions proportionate. If it is not locked, just click on the lock icon.
Step 3: There are two ways to resize your box
template. One is to change the dimensions in the Size area at the top. The
other way is to use the arrow as shown in the purple circle.
I’m going to show you the second way (The arrow) because I find it easier for this type of project.
Step 4: Next, go to shapes and make a square.
Step 5: Now, you need to change the size of the square
and the size of the square will depend on the size of the cardstock you are
going to use.
I’m going to use 12” x 12” cardstock, so my square is going to be 11.5” x 11.5” because this is the largest size that cricut can cut using that cardstock.
In the image below, you can see the sizes of the
square and rectanges for some paper sizes.
Step 6: After that, right click on the box template and select “Send to front”.
Step 7: Place your box in front of the square and drag the arrow until the box fits the square.
Step 8: Note that the main piece of your project (The box) must fit the square.
Step 9: Delete the square.
Step 10: If you’re making a box or any other project that includes lines to score, you need to set up the score lines. First, right click on the box and select “Ungroup”
Step 11: Select the lines of the box, go to operation
and set up the score lines.
Step 12: Now, select the box and score lines together, then click on the attach icon.
Step 13: Be sure the score lines and the box are attached, before clicking on “Make it”.
Step 14: You have a bigger box ready to cut and score!
I hope you find it useful this tutorial! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me! 🤗
